Ivomec Eprinex Pour-On For Beef and Dairy Cattle EPRINEX POUR ON Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health

Description

Ivomec Eprinex Pour-On for Beef and Dairy Cattle

Active Ingredient: Eprinomectin 5mg/mL

Similar or comparable to Eprigard Pour-On For Beef And Dairy Cattle (Zagro) & Neoverin Cattle Pour-On (Neove Pharma)

Ivomec Eprinex Pour-on For Beef And Dairy Cattle is for treating and controlling internal and external parasites of beef and dairy cattle and internal parasites of deer.

Ivomec Eprinex Pour-on For Beef And Dairy Cattle provides persistent activity against many species of cattle worms.  This gives you the power to provide the best possible coverage against all the important gastrointestinal parasites that can affect the health and performance of your herd.

Whether you’re a beef or dairy producer, parasites are out there waiting to literally suck out your profitability by negatively impacting the immune system and reducing appetite and nutritional efficiency.  While young calves and replacement heifers are most susceptible, adult animals are more vulnerable than you might think – even those not on pasture. And that can have big implications for dairy and beef producers. It’s important to have a deworming strategy in place – one that includes Eprinex.

Parasites Lead to:

  • Reduced weaning weights.
  • Lower conception rates.
  • Decreased milk production

Ivomec Eprinex Pour-on Pays for Itself:

  • Strategic deworming with Eprinex is far less expensive than the feed that is wasted on these profit-robbing parasites or the losses associated with lower carcass values and reduced milk production.

What is the Broad-Spectrum Parasite Control of Ivomec Eprinex Pour-On:

  • Gastrointestinal Roundworms

For the control of adult and immature:

    • Ostertagia spp.

Eprinomectin Potency:

Eprinomectin is the most potent endectocide identified to date. Because it is more potent, eprinomectin continues to kill worms at lower concentrations. Eprinomectin also reaches higher blood concentrations than other endectocide pour-ons, and it does so more rapidly. This enables Ivomec Eprinex Pour-On to kill more species of worms for longer than any other endectocide pour-on available.

What is the persistent activity of Ivomec Eprinex Pour-On in Cattle:

Ivomec Eprinex Pour-On has a wide range of persistent activity, and kills more species of worms for longer than any other pour-on available when  applied at the recommended dosage of 1mL per 10kg liveweight.

  • Ostertagia spp. – Up to 28 days
  • Cooperia spp. – Up to 28 days
  • Dictyocaulus viviparus – 28 days
  • Nematodirus helvetianus – Up to 28 days
  • Oesophagostomum radiatum – 120 days
  • Haemonchus placei – 21 days
  • Trichostrongylus spp. – 21 days

Ivome Eprinex Pour-On for Beef and Dairy Cattle is not registered or recommended for horse use. Due to the sensitivity of their hides, care should be taken when applying any pour-on application to horses. We recommend only using a registered horse drench. The general guidelines on the age to drench cattle are: (1) Weaners: Drench at weaning and every 4-6 weeks during their first year. (2) Yearlings and adults: Drench strategically based on worm egg counts and risk factors. Typically, 2-3 drenches per year may be sufficient. (3) Breeding cattle: Consider drenching before the breeding season and again before calving. It is important to consult with a veterinarian or animal health advisor to develop a tailored drenching program for your specific herd and management practices. They can advise on the most suitable drench products, timing of drenching, and strategies for managing worm resistance.

The frequency of drenching cattle for internal parasites with Ivomec Eprinex Pour-On depends on various factors, including (1) Age of cattle: Weaners and young cattle generally require more frequent drenching than adult cattle due to their lower immunity. (2) Time of year: Worm burdens tend to be higher in warmer months, so more frequent drenching may be necessary during spring and summer. (3) Pasture management: Well-managed pastures with good rotational grazing practices can help reduce worm burdens and the need for frequent drenching. (4) Worm egg counts: Conducting regular fecal egg counts can help determine the level of worm infestation and guide drenching frequency.

Ivomec Eprinex Pour-On For Beef and Dairy Cattle demonstrates a wide margin of safety in all ages, classes and breeds of cattle, making it an excellent product for parasite control in beef and dairy cattle (including lactating dairy cattle). Five times the recommended use level had no adverse effect on cattle. Three times the recommended use level had no adverse effect on the breeding performance of cows and bulls. Studies also show that dairy heifers may need drenching at regular intervals from weaning until calving to ensure they reach weight for age targets at first joining and calving. Cattle will require drenching when there is evidence of parasites in the animal(s). This is best identified by microscopic examinations of faeces from a ‘WormTest’ (faecal worm egg count, or WEC). A worm control program can be put together for your herd, but this will depend on the worm burden present, the age of the animals, annual rainfall and other factors. For example, weaners may get drenched at weaning in April, again in Jul, and again in October. Once yearlings, they may only require a drenching around joining in January. We suggest contacting the Department of Agriculture (DPI) in your local area for advice on worm control that is relevant to your area.
